Copper-nickel valves are generally resistant to galvanic corrosion because of the stability of the copper-nickel alloy. However, galvanic corrosion can be experienced when attached to more noble or less polished metals in a hot environment. Careful material selection and gaskets or insulation can reduce this risk. Regular inspection and maintenance to prevent galvanic corrosion is also necessary to ensure the long service life of systems using copper-nickel valves.
